Angle of the sun
Around June and July, the sun is closer to 100% over head then any other month. Between those two months the sun is 75-80
% over head. The more the sun is over head, the hotter it is. Why? Because there's a lot more direct sunlight because we are tilted at an angle closer to the sun. During the months of December and January, the sun light is not even close to direct. Its only about 30% over head therefore its a lot colder because we are tilted away from the sun. Thats why there are seasons, because we are not always directly facing the sun, it varies.
